Get CREATIVE with your dreams and plans. It's time to do things differently! This six-day TEACH2GO TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certification Course hosted by UPCI Global Missions provides you with tools and opportunities to live out your dreams. Learn from experienced certified instructors, develop connections with fellow students, and prepare to open doors in your community and around the globe! There are two course lengths: 60 hours (in-class component) or 100 hours (60 hours in-class component + 40 hours online self-directed study).

Instructors include:

  • Rebecca Turner, MA in Teaching English as an International Language, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
  • Carrie Painter, MA in Education-Gifted Education, Lyndenwood University
  • Angi Clarke, Former TEFL/TESL teacher in China, Deputy Director of English Education at Golden Apple.

This 2024 training is hosted by Global Missions and as such maintains the Apostolic Oneness values and the significance of faith-based training in a TESOL environment.

While there are several hotels in the area, our preferred hotel, The Residence Inn St. Louis O'Fallon, is close to the training location and includes breakfast. What are my lodging options near the event?

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No.

What about lunch?

As we will be working through lunch each day, a catered lunch is an add-on option in the registration process at $8/meal. Otherwise, you will be responsible for your own meals. A fridge and microwave are available.

What are the lunch meals?

Some of the menu items last year were from Subway, Chick-Fil-A, Stefanina's (Italian), Bandana's (BBQ), Cane's, etc.

Can I purchase the meals later?

You may purchase meals at a later time by clicking the "Reserve a spot" button and choosing the lunch option. However, we will need to put our orders in with the restaurants by the Thursday before we begin on Monday morning.

Will there be transport from the airport?

No. You will need to find a way from the airport to your hotel. An Uber from the airport to the training area runs between $50-$60.

Will there be a shuttle between the hotel and World Headquarters?

Yes. We will run a shuttle van as needed and do ride sharing for evening meals.

What do I need to bring?

We strongly suggest you bring a laptop, or at the very minimum, a tablet for research, materials sharing, and lesson planning. We will provide a notebook and a small packet of helpful materials. You will also need a gmail address as we will utilize a Google drive for all our contents.

What's the refund policy?

You may receive a full refund up until 7 days before the event ( before 8:00 a.m. CDT on July 8, 2024). If you request a refund in the 7 days prior to the event (after 8:00 a.m. CDT on July 8, 2024), you will be issued a 50% refund.
